Writing Desk |
The inspiration for this writing desk came from the same publication that inspired the Shaker furniture. For this piece, since it was destined to another room in the house, the choice of wood and of tint colour are different. |

The compartments ere made with solid wood, and not plywood. The large drawer is made with dovetail joints |

This piece is composed of two removable pieces: the body with the large drawer, and the top section with its compartments and fold-down door. |
Here, the small drawer is assembled with finger joints. Finally, the assembly of the body of the piece is completed with mortise-and-tenon joints. One coat of stain and three coats of varnish applied with a rag, give the final touch. |
